The dialogue between my Writing and my Life is always in danger of becoming a slithering shifting of responsibility, of evasive rationalizing: in other words: I justified the mess I made of life by saying I’d give it order, form, beauty, writing about it; I justified my writing by saying it would be published, give me life (and prestige to life). — (via fuckyeahsylviaplath)
There exist counterexamples to this, but in general, great things are accomplished by small groups of people who are driven, who have unity of purpose. The more people involved, the slower and stupider their union is. — nomo zilla
I’m so totally impressed at this Way New Development Paradigm. Let’s call it the “Cascade of Attention-Deficit Teenagers” model, or “CADT” for short. It hardly seems worth even having a bug system if the frequency of from-scratch rewrites always outstrips the pace of bug fixing. Why not be honest and resign yourself to the fact that version 0.8 is followed by version 0.8, which is then followed by version 0.8?
One can no longer have friends in the classical meaning of the term. People are too migratory nowadays. The Internet can connect you to people from around the globe, but this can’t replace the social life that once was. — Planète Béranger v3

I don’t know about you, but when I’m a guest in someone’s domicile for the first time and I come upon a shower with seven (7) shower heads, well, I just have to partake.
Such were the circumstances at Marco and Tiff’s place that led me to take a shower there this evening.
My review: Imagine a washing machine made for humans. That’s what it is. It provides a thorough cleaning, to be sure, but it’s also refreshing and invigorating.
My advice: Next time you’re at the Arment’s, take a shower. They won’t mind. In fact, they’ll be damn excited for you.
note to self: buy above mentioned shower

Rejection destroys the source of our solace. The source of our nourishment that we once relied on ceases to nourish. But even at our lowest we are able to accept that we may one day achieve similar nourishment from elsewhere. But this is of little solace. The pain of rejection lingers and vexes us terribly. — contsys
